Jeffrey Lonstein ’74 Makes Annual Gifts and a Bequest to Support Current and Future WA Students

Jeffrey Lonstein ’74

Jeffrey Lonstein ’74 first donated to Worcester Academy’s annual fund almost 40 years ago. “It’s important to me that my contributions help to expand access to the Academy so others have the same opportunities that I had: receiving a great, well-rounded education.”

Jeff has also left a bequest to Worcester Academy in his will. “Including WA in my will allows me to make a larger gift to help ensure its excellence in education in the future,” he says. “I was taught, coached, and mentored by gentlemen who were passionate about their profession. They inspired and motivated me to continually improve myself and to always strive to achieve the honorable.”

At WA, Jeff played varsity soccer and basketball and was involved in the Vigornia and the Varsity Club. “Worcester Academy helped me to become a mature, responsible citizen,” he says. “The excellent teachers and the academic programs they created gave me the background I needed for success.”

Jeff matriculated to Connecticut College and went on to receive an MBA from Babson College. An owner of fiber and foam manufacturing company Jeffco Fibres Inc., Jeff credits WA for providing him with a strong foundation.

In addition, Jeff served on WA’s Board of Trustees and chaired Tom Blackburn’s retirement celebration. “Coach Blackburn held us to high standards both on and off the court,” says Jeff, who hopes others will join him in leaving a legacy for future students.

“This is my way of giving back to the school that gave me so much. I hope others think about all that the school did for us,” he concludes. “Worcester Academy helped me get to a position in life where I can think about giving back. Remember the people and places that had a hand in getting us to where we are today.”
